BACKGROUND OF PANAFEST YOUTH ORGANISATION

Pursuant to the recommendation at the PANAFEST colloquium for the establishment of PANAFEST Youth Clubs, in all basic, secondary and tertiary institutions nationwide, the PANAFEST Foundation, thereby, established the PANAFEST Youth Organisation to be its youth wing to implement the youth agenda.

PANAFEST Youth Organisation was commissioned in 2012.  Mfantsipim School was the first school to have had this Organisation. It was first known as the PANAFEST Youth Club which had Mr. Amram Halevi as the first President of the Club. The club was further extended to Ghana National and Aggrey Memorial the same year.

The club had its very first official Youth Day in November 2012 at the University of Cape Coast,  Science Auditorium and has since registered yearly in the PANAFEST calendar of activities.

In 2015, the Clubs came together to elect among them National Executive to become the direct link between the Mother Foundation and the Youth Clubs, Hence the PANAFEST Youth Organisation.

 

AGENDA OF THE PANAFEST YOUTH FOUNDATION

The agenda is to the serve as a grass roots support to advocate and implement the PANAFEST AGENDA.

MANDATE OF PANAFEST YOUTH FOUNDATION

  • To provide advice and recommendations to the National Executive Committee on youth related issues.
  • To provide a forum for sharing ideas and for discussing issues that pertains to the youth.
  • Increase youth participation and awareness in the activities of the PANAFEST Foundation i.e. The youth day, colloquium.
  • To provide a forum for the development and improvement of communication amongst the Pan African Youth across the globe.

OBJECTIVES

  • Increase youth awareness of roles, responsibilities, activities and affairs of the Association.
  • Enhance communications and networking between and among members, and communication with the PANAFEST National Executive Committee.
  • Organize workshops on leadership, career advancement, work-life balance and other subjects of interest.
  • Foster career mentoring for members with the help of the Foundation, who will assist with role Models etc.
